The Lions Won A Playoff Game And I Was In Downtown Detroit For All Of It!
It was worth the elements. If you’re a Michigan fan as well, this most recent week was the single greatest week of football, arguably of sports, in the history of the state of Michigan. The tension was palpable throughout the day in Detroit, but the energy was insanely high. It was so much fun getting to talk to the fans. I really have loved this team, and it’s been such a pleasure finally seeing Detroit fans genuinely happy and excited about something. I’ve written about it 1 million times, but there was a long stretch where there was no hope for any of these teams. The Lions opened the door of hope and have since knocked that door down with their first playoff victory of my lifetime.
It was only fitting that the Lions got this done during what will probably end up being the coldest weekend of the year. As a few people mentioned in the video, the elements simply didn’t matter. This game could’ve been played in a damn volcano; people still would’ve come out to support the Lions. That’s how much this meant to a lot of people.
Unlike the Wolverines, who got to the final game and finished the job, the Lions still have more work to do. If this is what the celebration was after the first playoff win, I can’t wait to see what the reaction will be if they beat the Buccaneers at Ford Field next week. If anyone is wondering, yes, I’ll be back there with my camera guy. I’m working on finally getting a microphone, so the audio should be improved a bit. Hopefully, we were still able to capture the electric atmosphere that was in Detroit last weekend. Don’t forget to subscribe.
