All Is Hunky Dory In Dallas: Michael Irvin Destroyed The Cowboys By Saying "The Entire Team's Asses Gotta Go" And An Anonymous Cowboys Player Ripped Dak Prescott

“EVERY DAMN WHERE, ALL ACROSS THIS COUNTRY, ALL ACROSS THE LEAGUE, THEY STOOD UP TO DEFEND THEIR CITY AND DEFEND THEIR TEAM, EXCEPT IN THE CITY THAT DESERVED IT THE MOST. EXCEPT THE TEAM THAT’S MOST RECOGNIZABLE AND DESERVED IT THE MOST. WHAT DO YOU DO? WHEN ALL YOU HAVE DON’T UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY HAVE. WHEN I GOT HERE, I UNDERSTOOD THE MEN BEFORE ME. THEY BUILT THE DALLAS COWBOYS. THEY MADE THIS AMERICA’S TEAM. THEY PUT A CHAMPIONSHIP ON THE TABLE BEFORE I GOT HERE. MY JOB, WHILE I WAS HERE, IS TO MATCH WHAT THEY HAVE DONE, BECAUSE THEY BUILT IT – THEY HANDED IT TO ME. PUT MY DAMN CHAMPIONSHIP ON THE TABLE. THAT’S ALL WE ASK. PUT YOUR DAMN CHAMPIONSHIP ON THE TABLE. AND YOU COULDN’T DO IT. ALL THEY ASSES GOTTA GO.”

At first I didn't know where The Playmaker was going with that rant. Calling players' commitment to "defending their city" into question might be a new one for you, but that's because you didn't play for the cocaine Cowboys of the 90s. Things were just different back then. Guys actually gave a shit. They wanted to continue the success that the players before them put on the table for them. Not like this bullshit today. And Irvin is sick of it.

Right on cue, we've got NFL Network, Dallas correspondent, comes in with an anonymously sourced Cowboy saying the blame doesn't lie with Mike McCarthy, it rests on Dak Prescott's shoulders for shitting the bed in big moments when he's not able to find his intended target open.

Dak’s body isn’t even cold yet and we’ve already got the anonymous backstabbing beginning. Brutal. Speaking of which sidebar here, is there anything worse in “journalism” than “anonymous sources”? How are they allowed?  At what point as a society with brains did we start allowing this to fly? It doesn’t in real court, so why do we allow it in the court of public opinion? It’s so easy to sewer anybody you dont like or to just make up whatever you want just by attributing it to “anonymous source”. It’s very fucked up when you think about it.

End rant.

Lastly, Nate's been on Twitter making jokes all weekend about the Cowboys choking like this, year after year, but it's true.

The good news for Dallas fans in all of this is that Prescott is set to have only a $55.4 million cap hit next season. So at least there's that.
