Going To Michigan's National Championship Parade Was A Dream Come True

If the Vlog that I did in Ann Arbor during the National Championship game was the hard R-rated thriller, then this was the wholesome G-rated family film. Saturday in Ann Arbor was all about good vibes and nostalgia. There were no more games to stress over. Nothing left but the tears and the joy, and there was plenty of both.

When you break it down, parades are kind of a bizarre idea. People just stand on the side of the road and wave as we acknowledge someone else's success. It's not like any of us contributed anything, but it feels good to feel like you're a part of it. As expected, Michigan knocked out of the park with this. I could've done with some warmer weather, but what can you expect out of mid-January in Michigan?

All of this is still so incredible to me. I never thought that this would happen in Michigan. I didn't think that would happen several years back when Michigan couldn't get out of its own way. These last three years have just been magic. As proud as I am to see all of these guys moving onto the NFL, it's sad knowing I'll never get a chance to watch them again at Michigan. What being a champion can do for you is pretty unique. For the rest of their lives, these guys will be legends. Dudes like Blake Corum and Mike Sainristil will probably never have to pay for another drink or meal and Ann Arbor ever again, nor should they. Whether you're a Michigan fan or not, there is something remarkably endearing about seeing a group of guys having the time of their lives. They have earned the love. This feeling may wear off one day, but it'll never get old.
