Bring Mike Vrabel Back To Ohio State IMMEDIATELY
What a stupid fucking move....? Hands down one of the best coaches in the entire sport, Mike Vrabel, is now unemployed. And he honestly might be back employed again by the time I finish this blog. That's how good he is. So while the Chargers, Panthers, Raiders, Falcons, and Commanders have no doubt already made calls in the last 10 minutes since this story broke, I'd assume even teams like the Bears and Patriots are weighing their options, wondering if Vrabel would come take over for them. Point being, if you don't act fast, you'll miss the chance to even get to speak to him.
I will pause this blog to make a quick message Ohio State's departing Athletic Director, Gene Smith, and the new Ohio State President, Ted Carter. My message is simple:
CALL MIKE VRABEL THIS VERY INSTANT AND SEE IF HE WOULD BE INTERESTED IN BEING THE NEXT HEAD COACH OF THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES
It's that simple. I think we're all at the same point in our feelings with Ryan Day. Is he a good guy? Yes. Is he a pretty good coach? Yes. If we didn't know for certain that Urban Meyer or Mike Vrabel were willing to take over, would we want to fire Ryan Day and start a search? Nope. But the fact of the matter is that no matter Ryan Day's overall record or record in the Big 10, this is all that matters anymore:
He can't beat Michigan. He vowed to hang 100 on them, and through 3 straight years, I still don't think he's close cumulatively. So the fact that Mike Vrabel is now inexplicably on the market, we have to make the call and see if he's interested. I mean, he was the #2 coach on my Top 5 Coaches To Replace Ryan Day Should Ohio State Decide Losing 3x In A Row To Michigan Is A Fireable Offense List. It was a pipe dream at the time, but now it could actually happen!! And this hire would IMMEDIATELY change the entire culture in the Woody Hayes facility. We would go from fake tough to real tough in about 30 seconds. And our hatred of Michigan, generated by our head coach from New Hampshire, would become genuine from a guy who literally grew up in Northeast Ohio before making the decision to stay home and become a consensus All-American at Ohio State. The man then coached for Ohio State, even working under the great Urban Meyer. My God what a turn of events this would be....
All I'm saying is that I'd take Ryan Day over anyone else if we don't have our replacement already lined up. But if Mike Vrabel wants the job, don't let the door hit you on the way out Ryan!
**Get the fuck out of here with the people online seeing if he'd be interested in being on staff but not the Head Coach. You think Mike Vrabel is going to be bossed around and told what to do by Ryan fucking Day? No, it's either you can Day and offer Vrabel, or you watch him go coach the Bears.
