Jake Marisnick And Andrew Benintendi Are Champions

It was an awesome season of Fantasy Football in The Show Fantasy League. The team that had the #1 pick, Jake Marisnick, with new co-manager Andrew Benintendi took Justin Jefferson #1 overall and earned criticism for not going Christian McCaffrey in a PPR format. The rest of their draft was terrific. Waddle Round 2 was seen as good at the time, and they built outstanding depth throughout the draft. Jahmyr Gibbs really turned into an outstanding player, Breece Hall had some major peaks, Justin Herbert was great value in the 5th round with guys like Patrick Mahomes going in the 2nd round, D'Andre Swift in the 8th, Nico Collins in the 10th, De'Von Achane in the 11th, this is a good team top to bottom!

They persevered all season and earned a bye in the first round of the playoffs securing the #2 seed behind only Mike Trout. They mowed down the team that finished in 3rd managed by Joc Pederson/Alex Wood/Austin Barnes in the semi-finals after their bye. They even had the gall/foresight to start Nick Mullens last week! After Justin Herbert went down they were scrambling, but they'd built such great depth, they were able to take fliers and make the correct decisions.

Starting Derek Carr in the championship game isn't optimal, but they got monster games from Breece Hall and CeeDee Lamb where this game was almost over before Sunday.

Trout, who finishes in 2nd place, put up a good fight with Isiah Pacheco giving him some very late hope, but it just wasn't enough as Rashee Rice and Justin Jefferson sealed the deal for Marisnick and Benintendi. That wraps up a fantastic season of fantasy football. Congrats to the historical champs which now include:

2021: Alex Bregman

2022: Wil Myers

2023: Jake Marisnick/Andrew Benintendi
