No. 1 2024 QB Dylan Raiola Flipped His Commitment to Nebraska With a Terribly Cringe Poem Seemingly Written by ChatGPT

There it is. Despite the best efforts of some Georgia fans, No. 1 2024 quarterback Dylan Raiola officially flipped his commitment from the Bulldogs to the Nebraska Cornhuskers with less than 48 hours to go until the early signing period.

This is obviously a big coup for Matt Rhule and Nebraska, but I'm honestly not so convinced this kid is such a sure thing after seeing him commit with a ChatGPT poem. I've got Dylan on big-time Bust Watch.

First of all, this is just so corny. He could have just posted a graphic like 99 percent of recruits do when they commit or if he really wanted to do something like this, take 10 minutes and write one damn paragraph about how excited you are to be coming to Nebraska to play in front of the best fans in the country and all that good stuff. Instead, he told ChatGPT to, "Write a poem about Dylan Raiola committing to Nebraska instead of Georgia," which I know because that's precisely what I did and got almost the exact same thing with many of the same phrases verbatim.

Also, if you're a Huskers fan, are you not a little pissed off that Raiola's cutesy poem basically just talks about how awesome Georgia is but that he'd rather come to lowly Nebraska instead? Aside from him anointing himself the savior of Nebraska football before ever taking a college snap, he — or ChatGPT, more accurately — goes out of his way to talk up UGA while portraying Nebraska as a damsel in need of saving. Even if that's true, you probably shouldn't mention that when committing there.

There's nothing you can say to talk Cornhuskers fans out of the high they're surely feeling right now, though. Raiola could have taken a shit on the 50-yard line and they would have still welcomed him with open arms. I just hope Walt Whitman is able to sling it as well as he thinks can.
