I Could Listen to Gronk and Edelman Laugh About 'Pounding That Ass' on the Colts From Now Til Doomsday

There are times when you jump into the middle of a conversation between old friends and you're so familiar with them you know exactly what they're talking about the moment you hear them talking? There's no need to ask because you know these guys so well. And because you're always telling the same story yourself, so you know it by heart. That's what this was.

Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman are like old retired soldiers reminiscing about the great victories they shared together. And their epic adventures never get old with the retellings. And you know you don't even need to hear the word "Colts" before you know they're talking about the 2014 AFC championship game. And how Indy got positively snowplowed off the field by a Patriots rushing attack led by LeGarrette Blount's 148 yards and three touchdowns, resulting in a 45-7 blowout. And 28 unanswered points in the 2nd half. Meaning after the Colts whined to the league about the footballs feeling a little squishy.

But since the previous meeting between the two teams, earlier that season, an absolute nondescript replacement part named Jonas Gray trampled the Colts underfoot to the tune of 201 yards and four TDs. So a franchise with self-awareness and integrity would do a lot of serious reflection, evaluate where they've gone wrong and addressed their fatal flaws. None of that ever applied to Jim Irsay's pathetic little band. And listening to Gronk and Edelman see if from the same perspective that you and I do is glorious.

And how can anyone blame them? Doing the math, in the nines years these two were teammates, from 2010-18, they faced the Colts eight times and went 8-0. By a combined score of 323 to 176. Which is an average of 40.4 to 22.0. So is it any wonder they'd have nothing but contempt for such a My Pillow soft operation that could never stop them, so they opted to accuse them of cheating instead? I bet Gronk's only regret is he threw just one Colts defender out the club:

So thanks to Gronk and Edelman for the stroll down Colts Humiliation Lane. With everything going on with the team this year, we can use the nostalgia trip. Don't cry because the 59-24 games are over. Smile because they happened.
