College Sports Just Became A Bigger Shit Show Because The NCAA Refuses To Do Anything Smart

You wanna see people confused? This right here will do it. A judge today ruled that for 14 days the NCAA can't authorize rulings on athletes who are on their second transfer. This was spearheaded by RaeQuan Battle who has been fighting for the right to play at WVU this year after transferring from Montana State. Now, let me clarify. He transferred because his coach left to become the head coach at Utah State after Rico Bosco spent all summer begging for the hire to happen. I'm not saying Rico's to blame here for this lawsuit, but we shouldn't rule it out.

To me it's simple. If your coach leaves for a different job or gets fired, you should have the right to transfer with no penalty. It's that simple. Guys go to schools because of the coaching staff. Spare me academic talk or anything like that. It's relationships with coaches that are a large point to landing a recruit or transfer. Yeah, NIL, facilities and everything else along those lines matter too.

Now here's where it gets even more confusing. No one has any fucking idea if teams can play these guys in these 14 days. What happens if the ruling gets reversed? Do they lose a year of eligibility because they played? Will there be penalties for playing guys who eventually are ruled ineligible? That seems to be answered below, but nothing makes sense with the NCAA and everyone is making educated guesses. And it's because the NCAA is relying on the court and government to make decisions. Seems like a smart thing to do when you can, you know, make your own rules.

Again, it's simple to me. You get one free transfer. After that if your coach leaves for whatever reason you can transfer again without sitting out. Transfers don't bother me because the whole thing is any student can transfer, so why are you saying athletes are different but can't be compensated, etc. You gotta be one way or the other.

All I know is no one has any idea what the fuck is going on. Thanks a lot, NCAA. Have some sort of plan or be consistent one time. That's all you had to do and this is avoided.
