This List Of Talented Players That Transferred Out Of Arizona State While Herm Edwards Was There Is MINDBLOWING

Look away, Sun Devil fans. We’ll get many more stories like this as college football continues to change as the transfer portal becomes more prevalent. Second and third-tier programs that recruit talent will end up inevitably losing that talent. It sucks if you’re a fan of one of those programs, but it seems like that’s just the way of the future. Let me serve it to you quick to do a quick breakdown of what each of these players wound up doing.

Jayden Daniels- 2023 Heisman Trophy winner

Johnny Wilson- Florida State wide receiver. Just entered the NFL draft. Projected to be playing on Sundays.

Rachaad White- Current starting running back for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Ricky Pearsall- Florida wide receiver. Likely an NFL draft pick.

Jaylin Conyers- Solid tight end. In the portal once again.

Chap Trayanum- Ohio State backup running back.

Curtis Hodge- Current NFL tight end for the Washington commanders

Ladarius Henderson- Michigan offensive lineman and first-team all-Big Ten selection.

All these players were Herm Edwards recruits. Edwards was fired last season following an NCAA investigation. Herm Edwards was always one of those popular coaching names, but I can't really think of much he ever did as a football coach. Outside of the "You play to win the game rant," I can't think of a single meaningful thing he did as a coach. I think he won a playoff game with the Jets, but you get my point. It seems like he was given an opportunity after opportunity, and he just got by on name recognition alone.

Seeing a list like this just proves to me why I support the transfer portal. The scheme is every bit as important as the talent. When you look at the two men who finished first and second for the Heisman this year, it's Jayden Daniels and Michael Pennix Jr. Both these guys were solid, serviceable quarterbacks at their previous schools who found better systems and immediately took off. You only have a finite amount of time in college; you need to make the most of it. Guys like Jayden Daniels have definitely done that after leaving ASU.
