Robert Herjavec From "Shark Tank" Was Boarding A Private Plane To Toronto, NOT Shohei Ohtani

I don't know how much of this is intentional, but I would be so fucking mad if I was a Blue Jays fan. For people who need a refresher, the Shohei Ohtani sweepstakes appears like it's coming to an end. Currently, there are signs pointing to Ohtani potentially going north of the border to play for the Toronto Blue Jays. Ohtani's free agency saga has been such an insane whirlwind that people have literally gotten to the point of following flights across the country. Yesterday, it was reported that a private flight was going from Southern California to Toronto. Many people believe that Ohtani may have been aboard that private jet. It turns out that was not the case. Not only was it not Shohei Ohtani, it was Robert Herjavec of "Shark Tank" fame.

I love the image of Shohei Ohtani just sitting back on his couch, huddled up with his dog, playing video games as the rest of the world speculates about what team he's about to sign with. That's ultimately what ended up being confirmed. Ohtani did not travel to Canada yesterday.

If he has decided on what team he's going to play for, Ohtani is yet to sign a contract. By the time today is over, Ohtani may be on a different team. I hope he is. If he signs with the Blue Jays, I'll do a write-up on it, but if he doesn't, this bizarre moment will go down in baseball lore as one of the ultimate free agent tease of all time. I highly doubt that Herjavec was intentionally trying to pose as baseball's most sought-after free agent, but he wrote himself into this narrative somehow.
