This Is AWESOME: Saratoga Race Course Will Be The Host Of This Year's Belmont Stakes

Alrighty now this is pretty fucking cool! I live 10 minutes from Belmont Park and have grown up going every now and then on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon to enjoy some ponies along with going to a few actual Stakes races in my days. I was there for American Pharoah, I was there for Justify, and I was there for a few other random boring ones with nothing really on the line. It's a lovely day cramming 100,000 people into a VERY old racetrack on the Queens/Nassau County border in the scorching Summer sun. Great fun! And in the name of this being a very old racetrack they're actually renovating it for the next year or so which means it can't house this year's stakes! 

So who would be the obvious new host since the normal one is in disposed? One could argue Aqueduct, but thank god that's not the case and it's headed up to one of our fearless leaders favorite places on the PLANET in Saratoga. For those that haven't been the easiest way to describe it is horse racing heaven. The meet only takes place later on in the Summer so everyday there is like Christmas and the actual racing along with the vibe of the town just make for an unmatched place. And now you're gonna throw a 4-day horse racing festival finishing up with the Stakes in June? I am VERY concerned that us Long Islanders get wally pip'd out of this deal, but frankly even if we did how could one argue Belmont vs. Saratoga? Ya simply cannot. That is going to be a historic weekend in Saratoga- can't wait to watch!
