Mike Norvell Has Released A Statement Eviscerating The CFP And He's Right With How Stupid This Process Has Been
Mike Norvell of Florida State has released a statement and you would be a fool to say any word of it is wrong. This was a situation anyone with a brain saw coming weeks ago.
The main questions I felt leading up to this decision were these :
"What more could FSU have done?"
and " What are you supposed to tell a team who wins even without a crucial player?"
Norvell nails both of these in this statement. Every game his team played they won. With or without their best player. How can the committee willingly leave out a Power 5 conference champion ? How can the committee look at 2 places for 3 teams and not tell the one who LOST outright to another ... you're the odd man out ? Because it's a flawed system and the rules change every five seconds. You knew those robots in the committee would light their houses on fire (don't ban me Youtube) before walking out of their with a 4 team playoff that didn't include Alabama, it's just a straight up fact. It's absolutely a horrific break for FSU and Norvell and they have every right to be mad and upset.
The other question I would ask this corrupt ass committee is this ... "Do you realize how hard it is to go undefeated?" 3 teams in the entire country went undefeated. FSU was one of them. They beat a Top 20 team in the ACC Title game without their best player, there's no reward for that ? There's no looking them in they eye and even though you think are a different team that started the season did everything they could have and never lost so deserve a spot ? You would think via common sense that would make sense but unfortunately the CFP and the system for selecting a champion has never made sense. We have a system where not everyone has a fair chance to compete for a title like non Power 5 teams (saw it with UCF and Boise) and we have a system where the criteria to win is left up for opinion that constantly changes. We had damn computer system that selected the 2 best teams in this sport for Christ Sakes.
I'm on Norvell side ... this sport is dumb and this last year of a 4 team playoff being a debacle is a perfect ending for it's years of stupidity.Just perfect ...
