The Bears Have Reportedly Discussed Approaching Harbaugh To Be Their Next Head Coach

It would be GROSS negligence for the Bears to NOT be pursuing Harbaugh at this point. I really really hope Michigan wins the National Championship so he can look at his time in Ann Arbor and say "Mission Accomplished" before moving on to the sport's most impossible task...making the Chicago Bears a competent franchise.

I would hope the Bears have already made their decision about Eberflus and his staff. Going 6-27 in your first 33 games is reason enough to be fired. Then when you pile on the need to dismiss two different coaches for HR type issues...your judgement is in question.

Three big questions...is Harbaugh ready to leave Michigan? Would he want the Bears job? Would the Bears do what it takes to get him to Chicago? I would assume that Harbaugh would want final say on the roster and that puts the Bears in a tough position with having to pay BIG money for a marquee coach while also eating money on another coach you just fired. Then what do you do with Poles? Kick him upstairs to a VP of Football Operations role? Fire him too?

A lot to be sorted out, but Harbaugh has to be options A, B, and C for the Bears at this point and they should give him whatever he wants. The guy has won everywhere. He takes football programs that are in shambles and fixes them inside of three years. He did it at San Diego, Stanford, 49ers, and Michigan. He's the only guy I want for the Bears. Everyone else will be a question mark and somewhat disappointing. Harbaugh or bust.
