The Big Ten Has Once Again Completely Fucked Over Its Own Teams Playoff Chances

**Let's be clear: This is not an Ohio State blog. I'm off the Ohio State Whine Wagon. This could've happened to literally anyone in the Big 10 because of their dopey leadership, and it's simply not right. After reading my rationale, I'm pretty sure that anyone with a brain will agree. And I get that it looks like I'm fighting for Ohio State, but I'm NOT. It just so happens that this time, it is Ohio State who has gotten the raw end of the deal and is getting bent over the barrel. And now I am going to have to speak on it.

Okay, let's get down to brass tacks. Georgia, Michigan, Florida State, Washington, and Oregon are 100% in the playoff with a win. That's just a fact. Everyone knows it, and no one debates it. But my important question that literally NO ONE is talking about is this………………

………………………

……………………………………….

WHY IS 11-1 OREGON STILL AS IN AS ANYONE, BUT 11-1 OHIO STATE IS DEAD IN THE WATER????

Giphy Images.

Ohio State has more ranked wins, better wins, and a better loss. They have the exact same record. Don't get me started on why Oregon is ranked over Ohio State, but can SOMEBODY please explain to me how the Buckeyes are more dead than Jesus on that Friday but Oregon is more alive than he was that following Sunday?

Oh wait, I know. The Pac 12 allows the best two teams in the conference to play for the Conference Championship, while the Big Ten is playing in the Stone Ages and has divisions. It makes no sense. Oregon gets to redeem themselves, and the Pac 12 winner is guaranteed into the playoff on Sunday. But the Big Ten has divisions, and it's taking a big risk on Saturday for everyone involved by keeping Ohio State out of the game. It's screwed them over for years, and I know they're "fixing it" next year with the addition of all the West Coast teams, but why wasn't it fixed this year?

Don't get me wrong. Ohio State does NOT deserve to be in the playoff. But they are literally in the exact same scenario that Oregon is in: 11-1 with a very good loss to an undefeated team. The only difference is Oregon still completely controls their own destiny, while Ohio State has to sit at home and watch Iowa, who they would beat by no less than 50 points, by 3+ touchdown underdogs to Michigan.

If you don't see that then I don't know what to tell you.

And it's not just Ohio State that is getting screwed. It's the entire conference. I mean, I know it's extremely unlikely because their Over/Under team total is like 2 points on Saturday, but what happens if Iowa beats Michigan? I would say there's a good chance it's Georgia, Florida State, Pac 12 Winner, and Texas in the playoff then. And the Big Ten gets shut out because they allowed a non-contender play a contender for the Conference Title. Millions of dollars that would go to the conference teams gets lost because of our dopey leadership. How is this possible that we allow this after seeing it unfold incorrectly multiple times now???

It absolutely has to be a rematch of Ohio State and Michigan this week. Or Michigan shouldn't even play the game! They won the conference by going 12-0 in the regular season and beating 11-1 Ohio State. It literally only hurts the conference to play this game on Saturday, and that's fucking stupid.
