Today In Airplane Freakouts: A Southwest Passenger Jumped Out The Emergency Exit Of A Plane And Tried To Get Away In A Truck On The Tarmac

#WATCH: As Passengers Panic After Man Jumps Out of Emergency Exit on Southwest Airlines Flight and Attempts to Hijack Airport Vehicle.

A passenger aboard Boeing 737 MAX 8 Southwest Airlines flight 3172 from New Orleans to Atlanta caused major panic on Sunday evening when he opened an over-wing emergency exit door while the aircraft was still at the gate. He jumped onto the tarmac and attempted to hijack an airport service truck at New Orleans International Airport. Police later found the man and promptly arrested him, though his motives remain unclear. Following his arrest, the man was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

As someone that has covered roughly a million different plane freakouts here at Barstool, I'll admit I was all ready to rip this guy to shreds for pulling a stunt that likely caused delays for all the people on his flight along with any other residual delays. Then I thought about it for a bit and realized we have all hit our breaking point while dealing with the airlines, especially during the holiday season where air travel goes from horrible to straight up hell.

Which is why I think everyone should be allowed to do a move like this exactly once in their life as some sort of Get Out Of Airplane Jail card. I don't know why the hell this dude had to get off that plane ASAP. It could've been because he was tired of waiting, lost big time during the Southwest boarding free-for-all by ending up sitting next to a unit that is my size, or saw some motherfucker that wasn't real like Hank's girlfriend did that one time.

Regardless, if you need to get off a plane ASAP, why not get off using the Emergency Exit which is literally put on the plane for exiting during emergencies as its name states. Then once you are off of the plane, there is no quicker way to get off the tarmac full of super loud planes than by getting in the closest truck. I'm not saying that there should always be a truck fueled up and ready for people using their Get Out Of Plane Free card. But if you leave your truck running and unattended, you shouldn't be surprised if some escaped passenger decides to GTA that shit.

I can't prove this, but I guarantee if all the airline workers on the tarmac had to do their job with more precision because they were worried about potentially getting carjacked by a crazed passenger, everything would run more efficiently. You know who benefits from said efficiency of the ground crew? The passengers on the plane, the airlines, and humanity as a whole because it would make air travel just that much smoother.

So in closing, all airlines should institute this Get Out Of Plane Free card. Or at least the poor people airlines just to see how it goes so we can work out the kinks in the process. Oh yeah and we need designated cameras set up around the airport because the performance by that cameraman was a 1 out of 5 Balls.
