'Fuck You All. That Includes Eminem And Jeff Daniels' - Scott Mitchell Is Unleashing Hell On Facebook After People Are Blaming Him For Barry Sanders Never Winning A Super Bowl

[Source] - Former Lions quarterback Scott Mitchell believes he was unfairly singled out for criticism, particularly in interviews from a couple of celebrity Lions fans who said Sanders would have brought Detroit a Super Bowl title if not for poor quarterback play.

“I am so tired of hearing how I was the reason that Barry Sanders never won a Super Bowl,” Mitchell wrote on Facebook, via Justin Rogers of the Detroit News. “I’m so tired of hearing how I was not a good QB. My only response is F___K YOU ALL!!!!! That includes Eminem [and] Jeff Daniels.”

Former Lions head coach Wayne Fontes says in the documentary that the Lions had an opportunity to acquire Hall of Fame quarterbacks Warren Moon and Joe Montana late in their careers and that signing them could have been the difference. Mitchell wasn’t happy with Fontes’ comments.

“I can’t even began to tell you what a disappointment it is to [hear] my own coach, Wayne Fontes, who went out in free agency and actively [pursued] me to the point of begging me to come to Detroit, say that he wanted Joe Montana or Warren Moon, and that the only thing that was missing from the team winning the Super Bowl was a quarterback,” Mitchell wrote. “A little support from the coach might have gone a long way. Wayne never had my back!”

Listen, I get what Scott Mitchell is saying here. Barry Sanders didn't have great playoff stats. Fair. But the fact that Scott Mitchell took to Facebook to go on this rampage just confirms that he was in fact the problem. You can't be a former starting quarterback in the NFL and start losing your shit on Facebook. I get Scott Mitchell is an old now, but still, you're a former athlete. Go on a podcast, take to Twitter, go to the press like the good old days. Do anything but Facebook and I might listen to your argument.

That said, it's laugh out loud funny that he called out Eminem and Jeff Daniels. Yeah, the same two guys you're thinking of, they were featured in the Barry Sanders documentary and just echoed what everyone else was thinking. In a world where there was Steve Young, Troy Aikman, Brett Favre, etc, they were forced to watch Scott Mitchell. In fact Herman Moore deserved better if you ask me. Herman Moore was low key nasty.

The documentary isn't bad, if anything it gives closure on the question why he retired. The answer simply being the Lions sucked, he didn't want to play anywhere else, guys were leaving in free agency and he saw injuries all around. Normal stuff. But now the biggest takeaway is how everyone truly is blaming Scott Mitchell. I remember the Mitchell era, because I too am an old, and he seemed to be hidden by Moore and Sanders. Shit, you still have his coach blaming him! That's how you know it's bad. When you can't even have your former coach help you out a little you really fucked up.

I just can't get over that he went to Facebook and used hashtags for the names. So perfectly on brand for an out of touch old dude. Yeah, add me to the list of people who will blame Scott Mitchell.
