Big Brain Thinking: Samford Is Hyping Up Its Game Against Purdue With A Promise To Send Out A 5'7" Dude To Win The Tip Against Zach Edey

I know people say college sports are dumb and they are right. You're expecting kids 18-22 in most cases to not make a mistake and well, think about when you were that age. But because of this, we get hilarious things like this tonight. Samford/Purdue, a game that wouldn't draw eyes. Until you find out Samford is promising to send out a 5'8" (at best) dude to do the tip against Zach Edey. This Zach Edey:

A ho hum 7'3" Zach Edey. Now where I come from this is a verbal agreement which can't be broken. I also know that Bucky McMillan is crazy enough to do this and not give a shit about having to commit a foul or play with little old Dallas Graziani for a couple minutes before a dead ball. Bucky Ball is a real thing where they play fast as shit, launch threes and play as hectic as it gets. That's not the real point here, just setting the scene a bit. This is about a little thing called Heart over Height:

It's so outrageous I have no choice but to respect it. It's not even like Samford stinks, they are a decent mid-major this year. But they know how to get eyeballs. You don't just go to Mackey Arena and play. You need a little bit of weird shit to happen in order to win. Hell, look at what FDU did to Purdue in the 1st round last year. They basically played as small as you can get and flew around them. Scouting 101 by Bucky if you ask me.

Oh and you can't tell me part of the reason Bucky is doing this is so he can tweet out jokes about Big D and growing 4 inches a bunch of times

This is how you make this sport weird. They'll have my attention for the tip that's a guarantee. If Dallas Graziani isn't out there then I will be demanding Bucky McMillan gets a fine at the minimum.
