Oklahoma State Played 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' After Beating Oklahoma In The Final Scheduled Bedlam

This is awesome. No team has ever deserved a win more than Oklahoma State in what seems like it will be the final iteration of Bedlam for the foreseeable future. If Oklahoma wants to pretend there's no way it can play this game going forward, the Cowboys deserve indefinite bragging rights until OU quits being ridiculous and schedules the game again.

I have no idea why schools pretend there's no way to continue playing rivalry games when one switches conferences. Texas and Texas A&M have bickered about it for the last decade and now Oklahoma seems adamant there's just no way to keep this game on the schedule when it goes to the SEC. Meanwhile, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky and South Carolina — all in the SEC, you may have noticed — end their seasons every year with a non-conference rivalry game. It literally is as simple as choosing to play.

But now I hope Oklahoma State gets to revel in this win for as long as possible. After a couple years, I'm sure OU fans will be calling the athletic department demanding to play the game again so their friends and family can't have this last one forever.

Until then, though, rub their noses in it.
