The Bengals And Bills Calling Each Other Out And Not Being Scared To Talk Shit Is Something We Need More Of In Sports

The Bengals and Bills have this sort of weird rivalry. I see it play out daily simply by knowing Bengals fans. They think the NFL is out to get them, hate that they are labeled as the same tier as the Bills and basically spend all season freaking out over the Chiefs/Bills beyond their team. It's a weird dynamic, but you know what? It's fine. It's fine because it leads to shit talking like this before Sunday's game and frankly something we need more of in sports.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen often. But it feels like we've lost rivalries. You had Micah Parsons saying he's cheering for the Eagles. I don't care that he's from Harrisburg, you don't say that publicly.

We know we're losing rivalries in college sports because of conference realignment. That's a blog for a different day. This is specifically about pro sports. I get it's different times. I get these guys grow up with each other in AAU, travel teams, national teams, whatever it might be. It just feels like there's not the same hatred between teams and I miss that. I miss the days where it felt like a rivalry week in pro sports.

This specific one stems from last year's playoff game. It was snowy in Buffalo and frankly the Bills looked like shit. You can blame the weather, but both teams played in it.

Great way to blame anyone else for a loss. Love the move. So now they are playing this weekend and the weather should be fine. That's what Tyler Boyd is basically talking about here. Good. This is what it's supposed to be like when you're playing a team that's consistently in the same group as you and you don't like. I'm sick of all these guys with the boring ass normal talk. Give me something like this. Add some fire to a rivalry that's new and could be sticking around. It can't be forced and this obviously isn't. But it's gotta be around more in sports today.
