Airlines Should Ban Reclining Seats For Economy Section

This is one of those all-time debates where if you're on the wrong side of it I know exactly what type of person you are...an inconsiderate asshole. An asshole in real life and an asshole online. I mean just look at these measured responses to my tweets

A bunch of asshole responses from seat-reclining assholes.

Here's the thing…it's an act of selfishness. You're simply not considerate of others if you recline your seat. The amount of additional comfort you get from reclining is NOWHERE near the amount of discomfort it creates for the person behind you. Just because you can do something, doesn't meant that you should. I wish I drafted this in the unwritten rules draft. This is like the equivalent of standing on a person's head in water until they drown so you can get 6" better view of a sunset. It's just not worth the discomfort for those around you.

Now, I will say, you can not be jabbing the reclined seat in front of you either if the person does recline. You can roll your eyes, you can take your shoes off and stick them underneath their seat, but constantly kicking their seat for an hour is more of an asshole move than the reclining. Two wrongs don't make a right. It becomes a "nice guys finish last" situation, but at least you have the moral high ground.

I knew we had talked about this somewhere before…Big T is with me on this one (until the kicking part)

I've always had this take

I also think there are only certain times when it's appropriate to have the windows open. I am not trying to be blinded by the sun 37,000 feet in the air. Nobody needs to see your instagram story of the city disappearing behind you.
