Jalen Johnson Is Your Current Dunk Of The Year Leader After Executing The Very Rarely Seen Double Body Poster

Just two days ago, Malik Monk made his pitch for consideration for the Dunk Of The Year with this beatiful poster where he dunked through Kris Dunn

As I said in the blog, it was one of the cleanest posters you'll ever see and was for the time the leader in the clubhouse for the dunk of the year. Well here we are two days later and it's time to update the log because Jalen Johnson unleashed the very rarely seen double body poster tonight in the Hawks game against the Knicks

Uhhhhhh holy shit. I'm sure it's happened, but off the top of my head I can't think of another double body poster quite like this one. Josh Hart was just trying to make a play and I bet he immediately regretted his decision immediately after he jumped. I don't fault him for trying to make a defensive play, that's his calling card as a high energy player. He does the dirty stuff to help change momentum. Isaiah Hartenstein being the last line of defense had no choice but to contest it. He's a guy that doesn't really give a shit if you dunk on him, he's going to challenge everything. It sort of reminds me of Daniel Theis in a way. He gets dunked on all the time being the player in that spot, but at least he went for it.

The unfortunate news for both guys is Jalen Johnson powered right through them both with ease. Another case of a guy taking off outside of the circle and then just dunking on someone's head with extreme force. I have no choice but to slide his dunk ahead of Monk's as the current leader in the dunk of the year clubhouse. Clean finish, did it over two guys, it's a no brainer.

This is yet another example of why the NBA being back is so great. We get shti like this basically every night. You never know where or who is going to pull it off, but you can bank on something crazy happening.
