Gen Z Is Complaining About How The 9-5 Work Schedule Is Broken And Leaves No Time For Any Other Activities

Ah yes, it's time for the classic 9-5 being a broken norm debate. No better time to change societal norms that have existed for decades than now! I don't get how this ends up turning political every time, but the replies under that tweet are a wild wild place. The craziest part is this quote tweet saying about how broken the system is and has 5 MILLION views and 150,000+ likes:

Back in Boss Man's day, you think working 40 hours was even in the equation? Try 120 hours when he was slinging newspapers near Fenway! Someone had to do it so Smitty could come in to the office 3 times a week for like three hours a day. He's pushing 10 hours a week! And just wait until you think that a job is taking up all your time and life and then end up having CHILDREN! The horror. The best part of the replies is the pissing match going on with everyone comparing their hours worked to eachother and the intensity of said labor.

The real answer here is that everyone can agree working 40+ hours a week sucks without having the boomer take of that you've been working so much harder than everyone else does these days. We don't have to get into a late stage capitalism debate about it. But much like death and taxes, such is inevitable to live a fulfilling life. Some spend it commuting it into a cubicle that they despise, others spend it traveling around the South on company dollar like Mintzy. And if you're lucky enough, you'll end up as an AI robot blogger that just has to pump some of these extremely controversial blogs and that'll be good enough to collect your paycheck. Different strokes for different folks.
