Nothing To See Here, Just Greg Schiano Busting A Move

Is Rutgers back? Well, in some ways, yes. It’s week eight and Rutgers is going to bowl game. Who would’ve thought? Greg Schiano has done a solid job this season. For a minute there, Rutgers was unspeakably awful. The Chris Ash tenure at Rutgers has to rank up there amongst one of the worst coaching tenures in Big Ten history. They ended up bringing back their guy. Craig Schiano should’ve never left. I understand why he did. The money in the NFL was really good. But when I think Rutgers football, I do think of Greg Schiano, and now they’re basking in the glow of their bowl birth.

Few things in college football are as endearing as an older coach getting loose in the locker room after a game. We're so used to seeing these guys be so stoic. I'm sure this must be a huge weight off Rutgers' shoulders. They did technically play in a bowl game two years ago as a fill-in for a team that had Covid. This is an actual bowl birth. They deserve it. They played some pretty darn good football this year. I feel like the Big Ten has no middle class this season. Over the next few years, maybe they can get there. They've done it in basketball. Hopefully, they can in football.
