PatBev Has Fully Engrained Himself Into Philly, Gets Tossed From Preseason Game For Chirping Ben Simmons

I'll admit it is incredibly difficult to give a shit about the Sixers right now. They did little to nothing over the offseason besides become the most dysfunctional organization in sports, while the rest of the conference got significantly better. It's hard to see a world where this team's window didn't slam shut over the summer. Meanwhile, the Phillies are just 3 wins away from the World Series, the Eagles are 5-1, and at least we don't even have expectations for the Flyers. So the Sixers are going to have to do something drastic to get our attention right now.

Patrick Beverley already getting tossed out of games for going back-and-forth with Ben Simmons might be enough to at least crack through a little bit. Credit to Ben Simmons, he actually looked like a decent basketball player last night. But there's no pressure in preseason games, so it's easy to go off in a meaningless game. What's not going to be easy is dealing with this menace all season long.

They may not have a stat to keep track of this sort of thing, but shit stirring is a huge part of the game. If you can have an instigator out there just antagonizing the shit out of your opponents, your team always has a chance to win. Especially in the NBA where these dudes who show up to the games with purses take everything so personally. You can flip an entire game upside down just by getting into one player's head. So if that's the role that the Sixers have been missing, then there are very few options out there better than PatBev.

No idea who won or lost the game. We'll check back in on the Sixers come Christmas.
