I Have Devised A Plan For How The Jets Can Stop The Eagles' Tush Push

The Eagles have just been unstoppable with the Tush Push/ Brotherly Shove, whatever you want to call it. The only way they got stopped was the Chiefs making the Super Bowl turf slippery as fuck when it came to the paint or something. I don't know how that can happen, but whatever, conspiracy for another time.

This "Blueprint" to stop the Tush Push is BS because, as you can see, it only stopped Daniel Jones and the Giants. The real tush push involves a 600 lb squatting QB that punches you in the fuckin face.

So how the hell does one stop the Brotherly Shove? Rex Ryan seems to have an answer. The Root Hog was my favorite stance in Pop Warner. I used to play nose tackle in 5 grade because it was so damn fun; I would line up as a root hog and just blow up the center and QB at the same time. But this is not enough to stop the tush push. One root-hogging Nose tackle isn't going to beat Jalen Hurts, and Jason Kelce concentrating their power in one gap. You need to figure out how to outplay those 2.

You see, the greatest idea anyone has had on the internet is Kyle Long. He referenced an ancient battle tactic that actually would have some serious application.

The Roman Phalanx combines all the powers of each individual into one. Creating an impenetrable wall. One of the reasons it has been so impossible to stop the Tush Push is that it selectively targets one of the individuals on defense who cannot possibly stop all the combined efforts of the offense. They need to figure out a way to combine the defense's power without leaving gaps. This is when we must look for the closest sporting equivalent to the Roman Phalanx. The Rugby scrum.

If somehow the Dlinemen can link arms and have linebackers pushing from the back with safeties and corners pushing but also making sure there isn't some misdirection going on, you would create a wall without any gap that the offensive push could take advantage of. The reason the Tush Push works so well is that at the end of the day it turns into multiple guys pushing Jalen Hurts through one Dlinemen who is outpowered. If that Dlinemen can be part of a cohesive line of push there is a chance. Or the Jets need to just time the snap perfectly and try to T off on Hurts.

Jordan Whitehead just blows everything up, so if the Scrum linking arms don't work, just send in Jordan Whitehead like a nuclear missile right at Hurts. Now will the Jets be able to execute it and be the first team to stop it? Tbh I think they have the hardest hitting defense in the League, if anyone can, they can.
