Regardless Of Outcome, What Orioles Pitcher Dean Kremer Is Doing Tonight Is Incredible

Didn't really know how to navigate this entire situation but I think this is an important thing to highlight. What Dean Kremer is doing tonight for the Orioles really is incredible. As you can read above, Dean is Jewish and has dual citizenship in the US and Israel. Anyone who follows the Orioles or Dean knows how much the country and people of Israel mean to him. After the Orioles lost the first 2 games of the ALDS we all expected Dean to get the call to start Game 3. When he toes the rubber he'll become the first Israeli pitcher to start a playoff game.

This is where the human element comes into play. He is a human with family living in Israel and he is now pitching in a win-or-go home game. Season on the brink while a country that means so much to him is under attack and his people are being brutally murdered by a disgusting terrorist group.

It has to be insanely tough for him knowing what is going on with his family over there and still trying to concentrate on pitching in a massive game. Manager Brandon Hyde said he spoke with Kremer and picked his brain on the situation and if he wanted to pitch, and the bulldog that Dean is, he said of course he'd pitch but obviously a lot of thoughts will be in the back of his mind.

Regardless of how Dean does on the mound tonight, the fact that he is stepping up for his team in the ultimate situation while the unthinkable is happening where his parents are from, where he has friends and family, it's remarkable. This is the country he proudly has represented in the WBC being ripped apart and terrorized during the biggest moment of his life. Nothing but the utmost respect for Dean and the people he will be representing when he takes the mound tonight with the heaviest of hearts.
