Mike Trout Put Up 128.90 Points Between Three WRs In A Fantasy Week

Mike Trout put up a historic week of fantasy football with a combined 128.90 between three Wide Receivers in a PPR league. It started on Thursday with DJ Moore dropping 49.00 points and only got better on Sunday with Ja'Marr Chase putting up a league high 52.20 points and Adam Thielen almost doubling his projection with with 27.70 points.

That incredible week all happened with Mike Evans on a bye. Just an embarrassment of riches at the Receiver position and Trout is a power player in this league with a 110 point lead on the team with the top record. Trout beat up on his Angels teammate Mike Moustakas who failed to break the century mark with his entire team. There may have never been a less scary starting pair than Gary Brightwell and Wan'Dale Robinson, but Moose's team is constantly in the trainer's room with Amon-Ra St. Brown, Saquon Barkley, Tee Higgins, and Diontae Johnson all missing Week 5 with various injuries.

Meanwhile, Mike Napoli continues to cruise along in 1st place. While he didn't have a particularly explosive week, he got enough from Tua Tagovailoa and David Montgomery to get the win.

Meanwhile, Joc Pederson, Alex Wood, & Austin Barnes trotted out the duo of Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry which had a fairly capped ceiling. They also rolled out Hunter Henry who put up a donut and Aaron Jones who was inactive. So a rough week all around for that group who was dealing with bye weeks from Deshaun Watson and Jerome Ford.

Dave Portnoy had every one of his players except Christian McCaffrey outscore their projection.

That's a pretty good way to get a win and he put up 163.86 points for a much needed win. Meanwhile, Wil Myers stays in 12th place with a disappointing 90.04 points. He outsmarted himself going with Josh Dobbs over Brock Purdy and had his two top WRs on byes. His two star RBs were fairly pedestrian putting up 15.80 points between the two and he is reeling moving to 1-4.

The Phillies fought hard but fell just short against Jake Marisnick and Andrew Benintendi.

Losing by just 3.56 is tough, but even if they had played the backup over the starter in Carolina's backfield, they still lose by a few fractions of a point. Marisnick and Benintendi got monster games from Sam Howell, Breece Hall, and Dallas Goedert to create some distance between these two squads.

Speaking of bad beats, Eric Hosmer's fantasy season has been full of 'em and Week 5 was no exception.

Unfortunately Anthony Richardson got hurt and had he gone with Trever Lawrence, he wins this one going away. But when your D/ST is your leading scorer in a week, you're in trouble and Alex Bregman and Brian McCann took advantage with Patrick Mahomes and Calvin Ridley posting solid games to move to 2-3.

Manny Machado also got his second win of the season with another big week from Justin Fields to go with Tyreek Hill doing Cheetah things and George Kittle putting up three TDs.

Shane Bieber and Austin Hedges are going to need more than 10 points from their QB to contend and this news about De'Von Achane's knee is troubling for their future.

Here's where we stand through five weeks:
