How Have The Texas Rangers Dominated In October? By Listening To Creed In The Clubhouse Before Games

The Texas Rangers are on a fucking roll right now. They’re 4–0 in October. They just beat up the Baltimore Orioles in the first two games of the ALDS, and they find themselves only one win away from the ALCS for the first time since 2011. Everything is coming up Texas. They were a team that kind of stumbled into October. I’m sure many people were wondering what got into them this postseason. We now have the answer. It’s Creed.

It really is interesting how the band Creed has seen this second wind. It makes me wonder what bands or singers will have something of a resurgence in the next several years. I feel like Nickelback is the obvious answer. Creed was kind of Nickelback before Nickelback was Nickelback. They were the band that people pretended they hated and then would quietly listen to what they were working out at the gym.

If the Texas Rangers make it to the World Series, you have to have Scott Stapp sing the National Anthem, right? I know he's technically a Marlins fan (or at least he did that song for them once), but he can push aside that fandom for a second. Shit, if they win the World Series, you should give him a championship ring.

In the future, I think every playoff team should have a designated band or song that becomes their official anthem in October. The Phillies have "Dancing on My Own," and the Rangers have Creed. Regardless of what happens next, the Rangers have clearly embraced October with arms wide open. Ugh, even I didn't feel good about that joke.
