Source - Jimmy Fallon, 49, made a very welcome return to late night television with The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday, October 2nd after a five-month-long hiatus due to the writers’ strike – and the comedian and talk show host made it very clear that he was so “excited” and “grateful” to be back on our screens!

Fallon seemed visibly emotional on his first show back, as it also marked the first show since Rolling Stone published an exposé which saw anonymous past and present staff members accuse him of “erratic behaviour” and fostering a “toxic” work environment at the show.

However, a little further on in the show when he was sitting behind his desk, Fallon seemed visibly overcome with emotion when talking about how much the show meant to him. Although he didn’t mention the workplace scandal directly, it seems pretty obvious that the allegations that were made against him were part of the reason for his emotion.

The Video:

"Blah, blah, blee, blah, blu…oh and uhhh, thanks to the staff and crew." I love it. Forty-eight seconds to put a nail in the coffin of a saga that lasted years. And you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way. Jimmy doesn't care. Jimmy doesn't have to pretend to care. He doesn't owe anyone anything and he knows it. He's the star of the show and yes, he was a prick. That's what happens when you host the most successful late night franchise of all time - you get a little entitled. He did his due diligence by addressing what happened and you know what he did next? He sang "Idiot Boyfriend" with Haley Williams…

You can't make this shit up. I guess if the formula ain't broke, don't fix it. Which really speaks to the larger story here which is that no one cares. America doesn't care that Jimmy Fallon was rude to his staff because Jimmy Fallon's staff has it pretty damn good. Better than them. I'm not making an excuse for his behavior, I'm just saying that I'm sure that most people have a tough time sympathizing with a group of writers whose feelings are hurt. That's really all I have to say on this one.  Thanks for reading and have a lovely Monday.
