Hot Take: We Should NOT Be Using A.I. Technology to See What Kids Will Look Like When They're Older

Daily Mail - Prince George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte have been reimagined as adults using AI - and they bare striking resemblances to older royals.

In photos shared by royal fan account, The Wales Chronicle, and on the 60 Second Histories TikTok account, the Wales children have been aged to their early teens and early twenties.

Princess Charlotte bears a striking resemblance to Princess Diana, while Prince George looks the spitting image of his father as a young man.

Nope! No thank you Daily Mail! Very creepy! I for one think this is a bad idea. I don't feel like I should have to explain why either. I think it's extremely obvious. I can tell you what they'll look like when they're older. A combination of their parents. We unequivocally do not need the technology to put a picture of a child into a computer, and have the computer tell us whether or not they'll be hot in 15 years

Who is that good for? Who needs to know this information? Imagine being a kid and having an A.I. rendered image of you at 21 years old. You look at the picture and say, "Hell yeah, I'm going to be beautiful when I get older." But as you age you slowly realize you're not on pace to meet A.I.'s expectations. Imagine the body image issues that would create. People already have major issues feeling like they have to live up to beauty standards set by models and celebrities. Now imagine that model is literally you, and you spend your whole life trying to live up to this impossible standard that some random computer set. Or conversely, imagine A.I. tells you that you're going to be ugly. A child can't handle that harsh reality. Nobody can. I did the old person face filter to myself on TikTok the other day and had a mild mid-life crisis. You think the bags around my eyes are bad now? 60 year old me looks like a fucking zombie.

There's so much crazy shit that A.I. can do, and for some reason people feel like they need to fully exercise it's potential. I promise we don't. For example, as I type this blog there is an AI system somewhere out there actively working towards destroying all humans. Yes, it's pretty impressive that we have that technology. But we also have the power to make a bomb that will wipe out all of civilization. It doesn't mean we have to put it to use. If you told me right now we could pull the plug on all A.I. technology, I think I'd sign up for that. Of all the awesome things A.I. can do, the downside seems way scarier than the good side is helpful.
