Utah's NIL Collective Giving Every Player A Brand New Truck For Free Is Such An Awesome Move, Especially Since How Much People Bitch About NIL

You know what? I love this move strictly because how pissed off people are going to get about a team getting free cars. Who cares? It's not guaranteeing wins - see their recent loss to Oregon State. But it's also hilarious this is the point we're at with NIL. Remember SMU got the death penalty for this? Man, now we're getting videos from team accounts of 85 dudes getting free trucks. Not a bad deal! Not bad at all especially considering what cars most college kids drive. Shit, my old Jeep Grand Cherokee didn't have A/C and the antenna fell off at some point in the middle of West Virginia while driving to school.

Gotta give credit though to the first player onto the field for the right idea but wrong execution. Call dibs, but don't take the first thing you see. Can't risk losing it, it's like the old Real World or Challenge when the first person would be in the house and look for the best room. You gotta run around, find the color you want and then peer inside before jumping inside to call dibs. That's a little concerning watching that unfold.

Really this just shows how the world will find anything to bitch about. People are upset, for real, that walk-ons aren't getting the free truck. That's not how it works. Life is different for a walk-on and a scholarship player. I mean, this is just real life at its finest. Everyone doesn't get the same shit. The better workers get more pay. The bigger stars get better perks. Oh well, that's what college is for, or at least what it should be for. To learn about the real world and this is a good lesson.

There is also something hilarious about Utah getting the Oprah treatment. A school that was known for Urban and Alex Smith now getting free trucks. Don't get me wrong, Utah is a good program that is probably underrated, but we're not talking about the elite here. Shit, they aren't even the elite in their own conference. You know Phil Knight sees this and is working on a way to get Oregon something ridiculous.
