Someone Needs To Tell Deshaun Watson That A Bruise On The Shoulder Is A Hell Of A Long Way From The Heart

Medically cleared to play and chose to sit out of the biggest game of the season.....? Someone get Herb Brooks a plane ticket to Cleveland as soon as possible because I need Deshaun Watson to hear something:

Listen, I've never had a small bump on my shoulder, and I've never played quarterback in the NFL, so I can't comment from experience on the idea of doing both at the same time. However, I can tell you that if you paid me $230,000,000 of guaranteed money to play football, and we had the biggest game in decades coming up in front of our home fans, and the doctors cleared me to play, I would give it a try. Call me insensitive or self-centered, but Deshaun Watson owed it to this organization and more importantly this fan base to play against the Ravens on Sunday.  Is this not what we have a training staff for? Get the man a pre-game massage and I'm sure he could make it through 4 quarters of football.

Here's a couple facts:

1. Before the game, the Browns and Ravens (tied for 1st) each had roughly a 40% chance to win the AFC North.

2. After the game, in which Deshaun chose to sit out and let a rookie QB throw 3 picks, the Ravens now have an 81% chance and the Browns have an 11% chance.

3. Baker Mayfield would've played

Those are just FACTS. You guys all get on my case for being some sort of illogical Ohio / Browns homer, but I've called it like I've seen it since Day 1. This is a soft ass move from Deshaun Watson, and to tell the media on Friday he'd play, get cleared, and then choose to sit out? Fuuuuuck that. I'm not listening to the argument that Baker Mayfield played through injury and it cost him his job. I'm not listening to Joe Burrow currently looking like shit while playing through injury. All I'm listening to is (in my imagination) Herb Brooks screaming at Deshaun Watson when he delivered the message to Kevin Stefanski that despite the doctors orders, he would in fact be sitting out against the Ravens.
