Dog Drives Car In Slovakia And Yes I Swear I Fact Checked This Story

UPI -- Police in Slovakia shared a traffic camera photo of a dog sitting behind the wheel of a speeding car.

Police said in a Facebook post that the image was captured by a traffic camera in the village of Šterusy and officers stopped the Skoda car to investigate.

Police joked in the post that the brown dog was on the lookout for deer and officers ruined its hunting plans for the day.

The 31-year-old owner of the car -- who was the actual driver -- told police the dog had unexpectedly jumped behind the wheel while he was driving, but police said they suspect the man was allowing the large dog to ride on his lap.

The post urged drivers to make sure dogs and other pets are properly restrained while riding in moving vehicles to avoid dangerous situations.

At the risk of being absolutely shamed, and dragged, and embarrassed for getting got by a fake story. I promise I checked this one. These might be famous last words, but I believe this is real. First off, the fact that the police shared the traffic photo is a great start to believability. 2nd, have the news, and then Facebook helps my case. I feel like when multiple outlets put it on their sites that must mean they researched the story so I didn't have to.

All time visual. Imagine being on The Belt Parkway and a Golden Retriever is in the Chevy next to you. Would be an immediate crash after not being able to stare at anything but that car. Forget a double take, I wouldn't be able to focus on anything else.

I wish stuff like this would happen in the United States just for the pure comedy of new coverage and attention. Dog would probably get a reality show a doc and a book in 2 weeks.
