Watch This When You're High - How Do Leaves Charge Color In The Fall?

One of the biggest things I miss about living in New England is the jaw dropping sights every autumn when the season's change. Out here you can head north to Michigan and see some beautiful foliage, but nothing that compares to New Hampshire, Vermont, Western Mass and even upstate New York. It's unreal. 

Of course the leaves dying off because of the seasonal change is what causes them to change colors, but why and how does this exactly happen? Scientifically speaking.
