Déjà Vu! Brandon Staley Makes Another Boneheaded 4th Down Call And Gets Bailed Out By A Redzone Pick

Just to set the scene for those who weren't watching. The Chargers went into this game super banged up. Among the multiple all-pro players missing was Center Corey Linsley, who was replaced by Will Clap. During the game, Justin Herbert got his hand fucked up and had to play the 4th quarter with a giant splint on his hand.

So. If you're stuck with a backup center and your quarterback hand is fucked. WHY IS THIS THE PLAY. Well, it doesn't work but, like last week, Staley was bailed out with a red zone interception.

Here is the play from last week. The Chargers were in a critical spot and their defense wasn't stopping anything. So the decision to go for it makes sense. The math backs it up too but who cares about that. The actual play they call is the problem. The team didn't have shit going for them on the ground. Josh Kelly was sitting at 12 total yards on 11 carries. So why on earth is this the fucking play?

I cannot figure out what is going on here. There HAS to be better communication, plays etc. OTHER OPTIONS than the one they chose. Make it make sense, Brandon Staley.
