Ronaldo Declares His Rivalry With Messi Is Over ... Probably Because He Lost, Got Lapped And Continues To Get Embarrassed By Messi

[Source] - "I don't see things like that, the rivalry is gone," Ronaldo said.

"It was good, spectators liked it. Those who like Cristiano Ronaldo don't have to hate Messi and vice versa. We've done well, we have changed the history of football. We are respected all over the world, that's the most important thing.

"He's followed his path and I have followed mine, regardless of playing outside of Europe.

"From what I've seen, he's been doing well and so have I. The legacy lives on, but I don't see the rivalry like that. We shared the stage many times, it was 15 years. I'm not saying we're friends, I've never had dinner with him, but we're professional colleagues and we respect each other."

You see that right there? That's a man admitting defeat. I'm not going to make fun of Ronaldo. I'll applaud the fact that he realizes he's not Messi. He's not changing the game, he's not winning a World Cup, he's not winning the prestigious Leagues Cup. Nope, he's just over in Saudi Arabia making a shit ton of money. Credit to me for crediting Ronaldo for being a loser.

That said the 'from what I've seen' is the most blatant lie I've ever seen. There's no chance Ronaldo isn't tuning into Messi matches and seeing what he's doing on a regular basis. There's a 100% chance Ronaldo is a guy who searches Messi on Twitter and the Internet. If he doesn't, he probably hired a guy to do it for him and tell him what's going on. That might be even more likely to be honest.

But of course the rivalry is over. The rivalry was over the moment Messi won a World Cup. The rivalry was over the moment Ronaldo was benched and threw a hissy fit at Man U and forced his way to Saudi Arabia. It's done. It's over. Messi won. There's no argument for Ronaldo now.
