NHL Team: Los Angeles Kings

Division: Pacific

Conference: Western

2022-23 Recap: The Kings finished 3rd in the Pacific and won most of their games with depth. The team is very strong down the middle and has developed its young players into everyday contributors. Credit to the front office for making some moves at the deadline to try and make that push for the Cup. It did not work and they lost to the Oilers again in another hard-fought 6-game series.

Biggest Loss: Joonas Korpisalo This was the big move at the deadline to make a run in the playoffs.  I can't believe they were not prepared to extend him but he got paid in free agency and now he's in Ottawa.

Biggest Addition: Pierre Luc Dubois Do the kings have the scorer to push them to the promised land? They gave up a haul and inked Dubois to a huge contract. He has not been happy at any of his stops before but maybe Hollywood can keep him on task. The leadership in the room and the rings have to get the best out of him right? If not the Kings have put themselves in a serious hole.

2023- 24 OUTLOOK: Edmonton and Vegas are no joke so settling for 3rd in the Pacific is all they can do. Their depth down the middle has a certain Kings super fan thinking they are a top 3 Cup contender.

Player To Watch: Brandt Clarke - #8 Overall pick in the 2021 Draft, played 9 games for Kings last year and recorded 2 assists. The right-handed D-man went back to the OHL and averaged just under 2 points per game. He will take over seamlessly for Drew Doughty when the time comes, which may be sooner than later.
