Zach Bryan, Who Currently Has A Million Songs Charting, Sampled A Clip From Dana Beers’ (Yes, Dana Beers) Video On His New Album

I can’t wrap my head around this.

After seeing my man Mario’s tweet this morning, I was going to originally wait to post this on Sunday night for my “Sunday Night Sample” blog.

Then when I saw it picking up steam today I was going to title it Monday Night Sample but I didn’t think it’d get enough clicks.

If there’s one thing we’re about here at Barstool Sports, it’s about smut. We are in the hard dicks business, after all.

If there are two things we’re about, though, it’s smut, and pageviews/clicks.

(Sports is like 7th, 8th, after Taylor Swift, anything making headlines on TMZ, and refrigerated condiment injuries)

But yes. I rather than post this embedded tweet, followed by a chat gpt generated half a paragraph like some bloggers do to beat others to posting a topic, I actually did some diligence on this and low-and-behold Zach Bryan actually fucking cleared this sample, from Dana Beers’ Indianapolis 500 video, through the legal channels at Barstool Sports. Our licensing and sync expert Kaymo, verified this for me tonight.

Here is the original video-

And here is Zach Bryan's record "Overtime". Listen to the intro on it...

Where the fuck are we?

How does this happen in real life?

Dana explained this morning-

You dick riders who get off on knocking Barstool, saying it fell off harder than WeWork, or that nobody pays attention to it anymore can choke on one.

This album is on pace to do 200,000 unit sales this week. That is an outrageous number for the year 2023. That's an outrageous number for 1995 when people were still buying music like crazy because they had to nevermind 2023.

That's insanely impressive.

And not to mention, the album is flat out DOMINATING the charts right now. We're talking all 16 songs from his self-titled album currently sitting nice and comfortably inside the top-20 on the Apple Music Top Songs chart domination. That's all genres too. Not just the country charts.

That's fucking unheard of.

As if that wasn't enough, today Zach announced "The Quittin' Time Tour" and dates for it. It kicks off March 6th and 7th in good old Chicgao.

Registration for The Quittin' Time Tour is open now at zachbryanpresale.com

The presale will start on September 6th and go through September 7th.

Public on sale starts September 8th. But I doubt those will even see the light of day because of how insane demand will be for the pre-sale.

This album is a beast and gets better with each listen. It's got the grimy, under-produced feel and sound that is unique to Bryant. We discussed this on the Backstage podcast last week but it legitimately sounds like the group recorded these songs in a single studio, all playing together, in one take. Nothing is over-mixed. Nothing sounds engineered. It's not a live album per se, but it feels like one. If that makes sense.

(sidebar- my two favorite songs off it so far-)

And the best part is he has no intent to stop releasing music either. He promised fans a few weeks ago his plan is to continue to drop singles as they're complete.

This guy is built differently that's for sure.

p.s. - look at this lineup that dropped today. holy smokes the horseshoe is going to be unreal that night next June.

p.p.s. - Mario, the guy who runs the this day in barstool twitter account is one of the most solid dudes I've met in a long time. he works his ass off, for free, somehow finds stuff that devnest did their best to destroy forever, and brings it back to life on twitter on a daily basis. I've been here since day 2 basically and the guy knows more about barstool than I could ever dream to. he's like an encyclopedia and he's a great guy to boot.
