In Honor Of Large's Upcoming Sandwich Of The Month, Here's An Appreciation Blog For The Best Party Sandwich Known To Man

If you aren't familiar with Large's Sandwich Of The Month give him a follow. I'm a picky eater, and even I try some of the stuff he has because he makes them look so good. It's off the grid type of ingredients, different mixes of flavors, wild combos and stuff I never thought would work on a sandwich. He's an artist with it. Look below at the Wonton Don one ... it made me want it badly and I never ever would have ordered it on a menu before seeing him construct it.

Give Large a follow as he's one of the most interesting guys we got here. I am excited for September to see what Large rolls out as the Sandwich Of The Month.

In honor / expectation of Large's next sandwich I wanted to write out some words on the best party sandwich in the game. For the record I tried to tie in a story about an Idaho restaurant making a record long Philly Cheesesteak but there just wasn't enough meat on the bread (pun intended). I went to Twitter with a very simple question ...

Even those who usually disagree with me weighed in …

I also went to the text within the office. I used mostly NYC/NJ people as I wasn't sure people outside the tri state area even bring sandwiches to a party. The results were more of the same.

Aside from Jeff D Lowe's Texas bias, and Kelly Keegs going with the 2nd best option … pretty much a clean sweep. In my eyes there is absolutely only 1 correct answer.

The 6 ft hero with chicken cutlets, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers. From there you can Balsamic Glaze or  add arugula like Jerry said but that sandwich without a doubt is the GOAT upon GOATS. It's the 1-1 in the snake draft of sandwiches for a family party. if you never had one I truthfully feel bad for you. It's an all timer. Winter,Spring,Summer or Fall this sandwich has been a STAPLE at any family party or function. Anything from a fantasy football draft to a barbecue to a graduation party should start it's catering order with a 6ft hero with those ingredients. I cannot say enough just how delightful that sandwich is, and how many memories I have shared at parties with my uncles and cousins over that exact sandwich. Wedding plans, job advice, jokes so funny you nearly choke on the sandwich.

I have written in the past how certain songs can instantly bring you back to a moment in your life, same with sports games etc. Maybe until now I never considered it, but sandwiches have the same effect. The old reliable Chicken Cutlet, Fresh Mozz and Roasted Peppers has been around so long I remember exact versions I had and the people I had them with. Who knew a sandwich could have such an impact… but that's why it's the greatest.
