Sweden Tops The USA In A World Ranking For The First Time Ever

Usually, when you see Sweden ahead of the US in a World Ranking it has something to do with Quality of Life, Education, Health Care, or something along those lines but this time it's in a ranking the US has owned for decades.

Soccer or Football whatever you want to call it, Sweden is the new #1 in the FIFA Women's World Rankings. The Swedish women had a great run in the World Cup this Summer beating the USA in a shootout, losing to Spain in the semi-finals, and then taking care of host country Australia in the 3rd place game.

Spain went on to take home Gold beating England in the Final and moved up to the #2 spot in the FIFA Rankings.

The USA Women who have owned the International game for as long as any of us can remember dropped to #3 and out of the top spot for the first time since 2017. #1 has been the USA or Germany for the last 20 years so it's pretty incredible to see a country of 10 million people take over the top spot.

This is the lowest the USA has ever been in the history of these rankings so of course the coach was gassed and I'd expect a lot of roster changes coming soon.
