Elon Musk's Ketamine Use Might Be Affecting His Decision Making

NY Post - Elon Musk’s allegedly “escalated” use of the drug ketamine could explain his penchant for erratic decision-making at X and his other companies, according to a New Yorker exposé about the billionaire.

The Tesla CEO was scrutinized in a lengthy, year-long report by journalist Ronan Farrow, who cited “associates” who have reportedly “connected his erratic behavior to efforts to self-medicate.”

In case you didn't think Elon Musk was cool enough already... well how about them apples? I think most of us can agree that Elon Musk is a cool & bad ass CEO who we all love and wish we could be best friends with. He understands how sick the letter X is. He gave his child a robot name. He posts fire ass memes. And he smoked weed very normally with Joe Rogan.

But if that wasn't enough to convince you, what if I told you all of Elon Musk's terrible & rash business decisions were made as a result of his escalated ketamine use?

“Associates suggested that Musk’s (ketamine) use has escalated in recent years, and that the drug, alongside his isolation and his increasingly embattled relationship with the press, might contribute to his tendency to make chaotic and impulsive statements and decisions,” Farrow wrote in the article.

That's pretty dope (pun intended). I've done a lot of drugs in my life, but sadly ketamine is one of the few that has never came across my desk nose. So I can't tell you first hand whether ketamine positively or negatively effects a man's ability to run a prominent social media company into the ground. But I do have access to Google.com, which can tell me exactly what ketamine does to a person's brain.

WHAT KETAMINE FEELS LIKE: detached, happy, chill, anxious, confused, or tripped-out

That doesn't sound ideal for the mind of a CEO who runs a company that my job is heavily dependent on. And beyond that, it certainly doesn't sound ideal for the mind of a man who is actively trying to send human beings Mars.

I also find it interesting how a drug can make someone both chill & anxious at the same time. In some ways that sound impossible, but as a past drug addict it somehow makes perfect sense as well. Whatever positive effects a drug has, the comedown is going to be 2x that feeling.

KETAMINE EFFECTS ON THE BODY: memory loss, nausea, depression, hallucination, numb/can't feel pain

4 of those sound bad for business. But "numb/can't feel pain" might be the perfect trait for a CEO to have. A lot of people have a difficult time making tough decisions. Some coward CEO's might be reluctant to fire a mother of 4 cancer riddled children. They might be scared to make decisions that "ruin peoples lives". But if you're completely numb to everything, that could make those decisions a lot easier. Sometimes you have to do cold, heartless, evil, cut throat things to run a successful business. Ketamimne might be good for that.

So based on those 2 Google searches, you would probably make the argument that Elon Musk's alleged ketamine addiction bodes poorly for X.com. You might think a company with thousands of employees that's valued at billions of dollars should be led by a sober person. But conversely… can drugs sometimes be good?

Is habitual drug user Artie Lange not a master of radio and stage?

Do the Grateful Dead not sell out arenas across the country on a daily basis?

Was Jackass not the single greatest piece of content that's ever been created (tied with Borat)?

What do those drug users have in common? A crippling addiction that enhanced their careers. Sure, Bam Margera of Jackass is arguably the most depressing person in America right now. Sure he's been knocking on death's door for the past decade. But remember when he beat up his dad that one time? That was a riot. Do you think that would have happened without hard drugs? Absolutely not.

What does that all have to do with Elon Musk's career as CEO of X? It's hard to say. But sometimes drugs are good. Usually they're bad. 99.9% of the time they're very very bad. But maybe Elon Musk is using just the right amount of ketamine to launch X.com into the next stratosphere. Maybe his rash decisions are exactly what X.com needs to take hold of the social media world. Fingers crossed that happens. Fingers crossed X.com is still a functioning website a year from now. Because if not, I'm going to have to start making Tik Toks again. And nobody wants to see that.
