Wisconsin Hotel Has Snakes In It's Pool And Hot Tub And I Feel They Owe It To Their Customers To Rip Them Down And Start Fresh

UPI -- Guests at a Wisconsin hotel said they were shocked to discover multiple snakes inside the building -- including in the pool and hot tub.

Michelle Griese said she and her son were staying at the Country Inn and Suites by Radisson in Germantown when they encountered some reptilian interlopers in the pool area.

"Sure enough, I go in, and there's a snake in the hot tub," Griese told WISN-TV.

Griese said she left the pool area and encountered another snake in the hallway.

"I literally watched the snake slither under this person's door," Griese said. "I knocked on this gentleman's door, and he came out, and I was like, 'There's a snake in the room,' and he said, 'I see that.'"

The man used a plunger to try to usher the snake out of his room and a pair of hotel employees soon arrived and took the animal outside.

Griese said the workers told her the hotel had recently been having a problem with snakes.

"This is an ongoing issue, and they're continually removing these snakes, or attempting to remove them, and not doing a great job because they're not taking them very far away," Griese told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "They're just putting them right outside the door, and they're just slithering back in."

The take I have here is not that controversial, but I feel like it hasn't been talked about enough. A hotel like this should be forced to rip up the pool, hot tub and any room these snakes were in and rebuild it from scratch. Think about it, unless you read this news story or hear about it word of mouth you could book this hotel and never know you were in a former snake pit, and not the good one like a Taylor Swift concert. The hotel doesn't have to disclose this info. You could book it for a weekend, or a night of business etc and have absolutely no idea that just a few weeks prior, the pool you jumped in had snakes in it. How is that fair?

The hotel should have to rip it down and start from scratch. You can try to throw as many chemicals as possible in the pool, you can even drain it, same with the hot tub .. no matter how well you think you clean it, it's never going to be the same. It could be 2-3 years later and I would still have the skeevies that while I'm doing the breast stroke I could be swimming in snake skin. The hotel owes it's people and it's customers a fresh start.
