We Had Our First "Some Things Are Bigger Than Sports" Moment At The Little League World Series

Nolensville,Tennessee made history this year when Randy Huth became the first manager ever to lead a team to Williamsport for a third consecutive year. They lost in the US Final last year and given their draw (a bye from the play in round), and the fact they have a very talented girl in Stella Weaver, the team has garnered a lit of attention through regionals and now into Williamsport.

After the 1st pitch of the game, manager Randy Huth decided it was time for a conference on the mound with the entire team. An odd move in most cases as unless it's a Met pitcher and Frank The Tank is watching the game, you can't tell much from one pitch, nor has anything really significant happened (again unless it's David Peterson and he gave up anudder fucking home run). As it turns out Randy used this moment to tell his team how much his dad would have loved watching the team play and how much he would have loved this experience.

A true "some things are bigger than sports moment". One so touching that I won't mention it's a little bizarre that he did it this year if we can't confirm he did it in his last two trips to Williamsport. It also may be a little awkward for the kids on the team to have a big emotional moment if they never met the man. Again, love the sentiment, but was a little thrown off. by the timing of it. Also for those asking, Randy's dad Jim died in 2018.

I also won't mention that this could have just as well been done in a private pre game team meeting, and it's no coincidence at all he did it with cameras on him in front of a national TV audience.

In all seriousness, TN is a team you can root for, be real cool if Randy brought home a title knowing his dad is looking down at him, and with how close they got last year.
