Ted Lasso Director Gives A GREAT Cliffhanger When Asked About Future Spin-Offs

Yahoo!- Ted Lasso might be over, but spin-offs may very well be on the way.

"Everybody knew it was the end, but it’s also the end for now. It’s going to be two or three years before anything happens – if anything happens," director Declan Lowney told The Hollywood Reporter.

Added Lowney: "You know, I think that it [could have] kept going, but it had done its thing – the three-season arc, that was the deal, that was what [Jason Sudeikis] wanted. But I feel there’s something else. … There will be other things."

The official Apple TV Twitter account even seemed to be hinting at a potential spin-off, posting a photo of Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt), Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein), and Nate Shelley (Nick Mohammed), with the caption "smells like potential" after the series finale aired.

NOW. THIS. IS. GOOD. NEWS!

Lookey here lookey here- I'll admit it. I fucking miss Ted Lasso A LOT! I loved every second of Ted Lasso. I enjoyed the homey feeling, I enjoyed the comedy, I enjoyed the sports, I enjoyed the lessons it taught me, and every single friggen thing in between. It's just a wonderful show so I was sad to it end...or did it? It was pretty clear that there were a whole bunch of signs of potential spin-offs to come after the show because, well, there's 500 different storylines they could still explore. Richmond technically hasn't won anything yet as they enter the Champions League, there's the woman's team on the horizon, and there's just a bevy of great actors at their disposal. It smells like potential.

And now we seemingly have a timeline about what the future holds from director Declan Lowney as he mentions it's over (for now) and could be 2-3 years before anything were to ever happen which I guess is good news?!? I mean I didn't expect a brand new series or show to be written as quick as I write this blog. Last time I checked you also then have to shoot those episodes and edit them as well. So give 'em some time. Let the Lasso team cook. I'm confident we're gonna have more Ted Lasso content whether or not Ted Lasso himself is actually in it.

For the record that first cameo on the show from Sudeikis, if it ever happens, is going to HIT DIFFERENT. I'm already crying happy tears thinking about it.
