Ja'Marr Chase is Asking for a Restraining Order After a One-Night Stand Went Horribly, Horribly Wrong

You might think that being a young, supremely talented, wealthy, celebrated and desirable athlete would be the perfect life. But the perfect life does not exist. Even for someone as universally admired as Ja'Marr Chase, fame can have a dark side.

Source - Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase, one of the best young players in the NFL, is seeking court-ordered protection from a woman he claims is harassing him and his mother.

Ja'Marr beelined it to court Tuesday to file for a temporary restraining order against a woman named Ambar Hunter, who he claims he had a one-night stand with.

In the docs, obtained by TMZ, Ja'Marr claims Ambar is behind an "unhinged and disturbing" pattern of harassment aimed at him and his mother … claiming she started threatening them after he refused to continue their relationship after a single night of romance.

Ja'Marr says he hooked up with Ambar way back in July 2021, and she's since tried to damage his brand, reputation and corporate sponsorships through "calculated and ongoing harassment." …

Ja'Marr says they do not have a child together, as Ambar claims, and says she posts photos of another person's child to make it seem like they have a kid. Ja'Marr says she's refused to subject the kid to a DNA test. …

Ja'Marr says Ambar is still ranting about him on social media as recently as this past July … even going so far as to post his and his mother's personal cell phone numbers on Instagram, which he says led to tons of harassing calls and texts.

Let's get right to the part where we acknowledge that we can't pass judgment, there's two sides to every story and Ambar Hunter deserves her day in court. Just because someone asks for a restraining order doesn't mean the other side is guilty of anything. I sat through hundreds, maybe thousands, of such hearings when I worked in a court and an alarming number of them are not legitimate and just filed out of spite. It happens.

So this isn't about who's wrong and who's right. It's just a cautionary tale about what happens when you engage in recreational sex. Commitment-free, recreational sportfucking sounds fun, no question about it. It makes a young man in the prime of his life feel like Nietzsche's Superman, living a carefree life with no consequences to his actions. But it can come at a terrible price. From a first round pick in your Fantasy draft to the lowliest sports/smut blogger, no one is immune to the risks involved.

Risks that can even spread to your own mom.  Say what you will about unwanted pregnancy or Sexually Transmitted Diseases, at least your parents won't be affected. A well-motivated stalker is like a dose of the clap in human form. But one that affects everyone around you. That's why Fatal Attraction was such an influential film that changed the mating habits of a generation when it came out. It perfectly illustrates the dangers of putting one's D into Crazy. Or have Crazy put its D in you. It gave us the term "Bunny Boiler" (I'll spare you that scene). And is so educational it ought to be shown in high school health classes to demonstrate the hazards of Hookup Culture:

So take the lessons of Ja'Marr Chase's story to heart. Think before you jump. I know it sounds impractical, but there really should be some sort of Jordan Peterson-style psychological test you give someone before you just go exchanging bodily fluids with them, all willy nilly. Anything to improve your odds and reduce the chances that a few hours of mindless boning don't turn into years of online harassment, vague threats, talk of non-existent babies, and your mom's contact info being broadcast all over the internet. It doesn't matter if the he or she involved is a Hollywood 8.5 or a Cincinnati 10. Abstinence is better than this.
