"Talk To Me" Is The Best Movie Of The Summer

Horror movies have been on a bit of a revival lately and Talk To Me was maybe the best one I've ever seen. I had fairly low expectations going in. It was a cool trailer for sure, but a cast of unknowns and an Australian movie? But from the first scene, this movie grabs you by the balls.

"When a group of friends discovers how to conjure spirits by using an embalmed hand, they become hooked on the new thrill -- until one of them unleashes terrifying supernatural forces."

What I loved about this movie is that even though it was centered around teenage decision making, their actions seemed legit. They weren't some cliche lines to get a quick giggle. When the teens conjure the spirits with the hand, the others are filming them for social media and often laughing at the person getting possessed.

And while there are jump scenes that scare you, they use gore and scary stuff sparingly leaving the real haunting to your mind. I thought this was almost a perfectly done horror film. So if you're a fan of the genre, it's a must see.

And in other awesome news, if you liked this movie, it looks like a sequel is on it's way! I'm sure A24 was happy with their $4.5M budget being more than doubled in the opening weekend.
