I'm Putting My Faith In Framber Valdez To Shove As Part Of Today's Gambling Picks

RECORD

37-62-2 (-7.7 units)

We had a split decision yesterday. The Phillies and Nationals could not play their game due to the weather, so Trea Turner was not allowed to go deep. The Marlins failed to take care of business against the Reds. As much as I liked the moves the Marlins made at the deadline, that team has been in freefall for a minute. They may be on the verge of joining if they’re not on my shit list yet. We did have the Dodgers, who came through on the money line against the San Diego Padres. I feel pretty good about that team right now. Their offense is so explosive, and even when they were down 5-0 yesterday, it felt like they were always on the offensive. So yesterday was nothing to brag about, but it was a plus-money day. Hopefully, it’s the start of a trend. Let’s take a look at today’s picks.

Astros -1.5 (+140) against the Orioles

Man, I like both of these teams. This may very well be a preview of this year's ALCS. Framber Valdez is on the mound for Houston making his first start since he no-hit the Guardians last week. Grayson Rodriguez is going for the Orioles. His development will be crucial if the Orioles want to get to where they want this year. He's looked better over his last several starts, but he hasn't faced the defending world champions yet. Also, I'm telling you, until Kevin Brown is reinstated as the Orioles play-by-play guy, there will be some bad juju in Baltimore, which sucks so much because they've had positive vibes this entire season. If they get rocked tonight, then the curse of Kevin Brown is real. The Astros are battle tested and in a position where they need to play every game like it's a playoff game. The Texas Rangers, who they're looking up at any American League west standings, aren't going anywhere. I think Valdez will bring it tonight.

Mariners -1.5 (+145) against the Padres

I have to go with a hot hand here. The Seattle Mariners are quietly playing themselves, potentially into playoff contention. It's so bizarre how baseball works. A week ago, this team had a remarkably disappointing campaign; now, they're playing some meaningful baseball. I've gotten a pretty good gauge on the Padres this year. They are predictable with how unpredictable they are. This could be a horrible bet depending on which Padres team shows up. But I really like Logan Gilbert. His stuff is better than his numbers, though his numbers are good this season. With a few more wins, Seattle might start getting some of those 2022 vibes back. They should come in refreshed after an off day. I think they take this one and cover.

Trea Turner to homer (+425) against the Nationals

I'll keep this one short because I made this bet yesterday. Trea Turner, following the standing ovation from the Philadelphia faithful, may have started to turn things around. But even beyond that, he has tremendous numbers against Trevor Williams, and I'm also a big believer in betting on guys to go deep against their former teams. It happens all the time. Also, today's value is better than it was yesterday when I bet Turner to go deep at +400. Someone from the Phillies is going deep against Williams today, and I hope it's Turner.
