Beyonce Paid $100,000 For The DC Metro To Stay Open An Hour Later So Her Fans Could Get Home

Beyoncé fans were facing the threat of being stranded after her show at Maryland's FedEx Field on Sunday, August 6 due to adverse weather conditions. Thankfully, Queen Bey herself paid $100,000 to keep the DC Metro system open for an hour later than usual so they could get home.

Well if this isn't just the classiest act out of a Queen that I've ever witnessed. Show gets delayed for rain and lightning? No problem, let me just pull out a crisp $100,000 dollar bill and we'll keep all 98 metro lines open an hour later so everyone can get home safely. A thoughtful Queen! A generous Queen! A Queen of the People!

Now, it must be noted that Beyonce has a reported net worth of approximately $550 million, making this kind act the equivalent of flipping a quarter to the bus driver as you get off at your stop, but I'm not here to unit shame. The crowded videos from the Metro after the concert show how much this was needed. Could you imagine all of these people just being stuck without a ride home?

Crazy. Beyonce literally saved the day, although I do have to wonder why DC needed her to foot the bill in the first place? I wonder how that phone call even went.

Tour Manager: "Hey uh, there's tornados and storms in the area, could you guys keep the trains open a little longer so thousands and thousands of people aren't stuck outside in them?

DC Metro System: "How much money you got?"

I mean I guess when tickets are like $200 to just get in the building, it's not a big deal for Beyonce or her tour, but shouldn't the Metro have made this decision themselves? You know, like, to help the people? Whatever. Just another reason Beyonce is a Queen.
