Update: The Twitch Streamer Kai Cenat Who Shut Down Downtown NYC Today From A PS5 Giveaway Will Be Charged With Inciting A Riot And Unlawful Assembly

So it's been a few hours now since the Twitch streamer who announced a PS5 giveaway basically shut down NYC and activated the highest level of disaster response the NYPD has. They activated all available officers from all 5 boroughs in what was pure chaos:

They were dancing on cars and stealing food delivery trucks:

Bananas. This is the prime example of how dangerous social media stardom can get — the dude livestreams to 70,000 viewers every single night but it's impossible to determine how many of those would show up to a NYC park for a free console. I prefer Big Cat's method of PS5 giveaways:

TikTok culture is dangerous, nasty work. According to the NYPD, it was almost all teenagers and kids trying to get some TikTok likes by doing stupid shit that is just sheep mentality. I sound a little crazy when I say this but there's very few people, if any, with that much power to assemble a crowd on any given notice. TikTok and Twitch culture is HUGE. It's a large responsibility and it seems the NYPD is not letting it go without consequence. I think streamers will probably take a little more caution next time when trying to do something that was certainly meant for good and to give back.
