Chinese Zoo Doubles Down After Allegedly Getting Caught Putting Humans In Bear Costumes To Perform For Tourists

Source - A zoo in China has been drawing 20,000 visitors a day after a video went viral showing one of its bears standing on its hind legs — leading many people to believe that the furry creature is actually just a human in a costume.

There has been a 30% increase in visitor numbers at Hangzhou Zoo in the eastern Zhejiang province a day after the video of the Malaysian sun bear named Angela standing remarkably upright in its enclosure lit up Chinese social media over the weekend, reported Chao News.

In the viral clip posted last Thursday, the sun bear can be seen standing on its hind legs and stretching its neck out as it stares at visitors watching from outside its enclosure, before sitting back down.

The Video:

Okay let me just say this...I'm not sure. I know, I know, where there's smoke there's usually fire, but look at how it starts to walk away at the 12 second mark in this video...

That's a bear! Human knees don't bend like that, bruh. Then again, the fact that this is happening in China throws a wrench in my deductive reasoning. That's no shade to China or the Chinese people, but Chinese zoo's in particular have a history of pretending animals are one species when they're actually another. I also LOVE the idea of some poor guy sweating his balls off in a fake bear costume. Imagine getting that news at the beginning of your shift? "Oh and one more thing…John, you're in the bear costume today. Hope you packed water!"

Regardless, the fact that they doubled down tells you everything you need to know. Even if that was a person in costume they're not going to admit it. They're going to capitalize on the viral video and watch the money roll in. And you know what? I don't blame them.

So what do you guys think…bear, human or "oh my god I can't believe you don't know what that is?" Something tells me the geniuses in the comment section will choose the later. That's it for this one. Thanks for reading.
